New Patient Information
As a new patient, you join a compassionate community dedicated to providing clinical excellence, innovative treatments, and personalized care. On this page, you will find all of the necessary information to prepare for your first visit, what to expect, and how to get in touch with us. We look forward to partnering with you to enhance your long-term health and well-being goals.
All ongoing care at CIOFM begins by applying for a Discovery Call to ensure we are aligned on your needs. If you have not yet spoken to Dr. Jamie, applying for a Discovery Call is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, we will be in touch to discuss the next steps.
At a mutually convenient time, Dr. Jamie will call you to better understand your unique health concerns and goals and explain how our services can be tailored to meet your needs. This is a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have and for us to outline the next steps in setting up your two-stage consultation.

- Initial appointment, about 1 hour and 45 minutes in length, with Dr. Jamie to review your case and discuss a treatment path forward.
- An additional 60-minute session with Dr. Jamie is scheduled 2-4 weeks after your first appointment to discuss terrain vulnerabilities, personalized recommendations, and membership.
- The initial consultation package also includes one 90-minute virtual visit with our dietitian, Sarah Heffron, to start on your terrain-focused nutrition plan.

What to Expect During Your Initial Consultation Appointments
These initial appointments are the foundation of the Intensive Outpatient Plan we will develop for you as a practice member. After your first two visits with Dr. Jamie, you will meet with a Nurse Practitioner for a pre-membership session where you’ll discuss your customized treatment plan for the coming months, available and recommended therapies, and costs.
Dr. Jamie will review your prior oncology history, pathology, treatment records, genetic testing, if applicable, and Functional Medicine forms, which include your intake form, cancer-specific history, medical symptoms questionnaire, and toxin exposure questionnaire, with you at your first appointment.
She asks that you return your records and forms 72 hours before your appointment. She will make some initial suggestions.
During the second visit, she will review your Functional Medicine matrix, where root causes are often identified. She will make some additional recommendations that may include Functional Medicine testing, share details about membership, and begin discussions regarding our terrain-based approach.
We target the cancer terrain (the patient’s body and environment) by addressing key elements that play a critical role in cancer prevention and healing.
The top ten of these elements, often referred to as Terrain Ten™ (1), were published and developed by Dr. Nasha Winters, a naturopathic oncologist.
These include:
Genetic, epigenetic, and nutrigenomic modifications
Blood sugar balance
Toxic burden management
Repopulating and balancing the microbiome
Immune system maximization
Modulating inflammation and oxidative stress
Enhancing blood circulation while inhibiting angiogenesis and metastasis
Establishing hormone balance
Recalibrating stress levels and biorhythms
Enhancing mental and emotional well-being
Our team includes a seasoned nutritionist trained in integrative/functional nutrition and the ketogenic diet for cancer patients, as well as the detoxication each patient needs using deep nutrition.
